Ok, So, I wanna relocate my blinkers on my Street Bob, I have found different kits and different styles! BUT I CANNOT MAKE UP MY MIND! I figured you guys would give your opinions... Please Give them and share some pics for everyone... I'm sure someone out there is wondering what to do too! Thanks everybody, Ride Safe, and watch your six!
I went with the fork clamp relo kits and after riding with them that way for a couple grand on the speedo I love the look, the fact at night it puts the light from them out near the headlight so I don't see glare from them as much, and I think it gives it a retro look to the blinkers. I didn't want the down low style like off the frame or crash bars cause people here in sin city drive wicked stupid so I wanted to keep them sorta eye level for drivers but if you want that keep that lean clean stripped front forks look might not be the choice for yours unless you went with like clear lenses and LED's that glow amber.
I think I saw em cheaper on some of the aftermarket sites but its a been a bit since I was looking for them. The only difficult parts were pulling the wiring out of the handlebar controls and rerouting it to the clamps and removing the bullets off the hand controls. The clamps themselves were easy to do and the way they are shaped you can choose to mount them under the upper tree, over the lower tree, or under the lower tree. I am using a QD shield so I mounted mine over the lower tree which puts them sitting close to the QD clamps and they blend in pretty well. Even just by themselves the look with chrome triple trees blends in really clean looking.
I went with the kuryakyn's, fork mounts. It was veryeasy to install. I had to get some different screws though, as the ones that come with the kit are course threaded, and the stock bullet sigs require the fine thread. I had to get some from an online hardware store due to none being available out here in the middle of the pacific.
^128 makes his own. They're pretty sweet as you can see. Wish the fit the WG.
Yep same with the Fat Bob, I looked at his kits when I was going to do mine but no go. HD made a change in the design of the pinch bolts for the triple trees for certain years so on some models they are recessed and at an angle and his kits need a flush mount to work cause they add a bracket to the pinch bolts to mount the signals to. Pretty cool idea though.
