Default Shift light question

I have a 2005 FXDWGI that I purchased about a month ago. The tachometer has an annoying orange shift light that comes on at about 3200 rpm's. Is there a way for this to be calibrated? It seems to be set too low. Is anyone else having this issue? This thing is especially annoying at night..it will blind you.

what i would do in this situation is ditch the factory tach n get a new one with no shift light or just not replace it all... problem solved... I myself have never really seen the point in having a tach... i have general idea what the rpm's are by the exhaust sound... my free 2 cents

My FXD has no Tach, I am soon to be 67 years old and the car I learned to drive Stickshift on had no Tach. I'd agree with the above replace it or get rid of it. Frankly, and not said as an insult or put down to the OP, no one should need to be told when they have to shift. They should feel it. Just my .02 too

I agree with the above for a street Harley or other type of street vehicle, however, if I were a racer, especially bracket drag racing, I would at the very least want a shift light so I shifted at precisely the right moment, every shift. A tach would be good for launch time as well.

I have an05 fxdci I changed the speedometer to a Dakota digital combo (tach&speed)with an adjustable shift light. The light is set @ 5800 and works great the unit was well worth the money.

You will find the procedure in the installation instructions, it's at the end.
