I ride an 07 Street Bob. I am thinking about putting lowering brackets instead of putting money in to progressive shocks. And to send them out and to get powder coated is alittle out of my price range. So, Who has put brackets on? Has a picture with there bike like this? What does the bike ride like.? PROS vs CONS
I put 1.75 lowers on my '03 The look was cool. The handleing did not change except for less lean angle (way less lean angle) also the angle they place the shocks creatates more of a hinge instead of a rebound which resulted in rear wire harness replacement. I swapped for 1" blocks when I replaced the harness only to replce the harness again. I followed the destructions that came with the blocks. They state that you need to adjust the preloads all the way up which i did. Small cracks in the road felt like a crater created by a 1/4 pound chunk of c4. I found some 11" all chrome shocks on jihre cycles web site. $71. shipped. They have them in black as well. They ride just like a rigid only have about 1'' of travel but dont tear **** apart. I replaced them w 12" progressives only because the wife can not handle the beating the 11" shocks provided. Well you now have my opinion. My review on the progressives? What a world of difference. I just regret not getting the 11.5" instead of 12" because in truth I love the slammed look over comfort. And I figure the 11.5" would of been exceptional for the wife as long as I told her they were 12"
