Unhappy Troubled Switchback 12

HELP!!

I need some advice.I recently traded up from a sporty to a 2012 Switchback. It has 175miles on it and is backin the shop for the second time. Blowing a lot of oil out of the air filter. This was a new bike and has done NO miles. Is there an issue with the 103 on the Switchback or have I bought a lemon?? any advice would be appreciated.

How much oil are you talking about?
Some blow is to be expected and not a problem, especially if you ride it hard or the oil is overfilled.

First time it went to the shop just dripping. Second time pouring 4oz or so hard to tell as in filter and engine but substantial.

What is showing on the dipstick when cold? Have you upgraded from stock to performance exhaust and Stage 1 air cleaner? When have you noticed it the most?

Without knowing it could be a couple of things, but there are a couple of vent lines under the breather. I know of a couple of folks that have had these changed out. Seemed to be dryrot

I had a AN Stage 1 AC kit on a 07 SB that developed a crack
in the backing plate that acted like your problem.
Changed it no more problems.

Thanks for all of the guidance. After the first trip to the dealer it was drained and refilled to the exact level. No mod to the AC or the exhaust so totally stock. Still in the shop they seem lost for ideas. I will mention the dry rot on the vent lines under the breather.

Fingers crossed. AussieSB

^ you sure are a helpful guy...

OP: Have you checked the oil yourself? Or just taking their word? Who is your dealer? My local dealer assured me they would not, and did not, over fill the oil on my 1k service. I got home and guess what? Oil was overfilled..... I bought a cheap turkey baster and sucked out the excess.
