Wide Glide issues
Greetings,
Having a couple issues/questions. Couple years back my father put down my bike (99 Wide Glide) on a visit to sunny 29 palms, CA. I had to end up replacing my tank with a 4 gallon instead of the stock 5 gallon (big Mistake). Now I am getting absolutely horrible gas milage! I have a Pingel Petcock and can't even get 90 miles out of the tank long or short rides. When i hit the reserve on the Petcock (roughly 60-70 miles) i fill up and their is still 2 gallons of gas left in the tank. I thought that maybe Pingel makes a different size for different models and when I asked the company they told me they are all the same. Everything mechanically works fine on the bike but not sure what the issue is any suggestions would be appreciated. Maybe a tip or trick out their that I am unaware of....
On a side note, if I can't get this fuel issue fixed I am looking to go back to the stock tank for this bike. Does anyone know what parts would be interchangeable from other Harley's with my bike 99 Wide Glide, specifically the tank and fenders or possibly a website I can cross reference. Thanks.

Hey man I have a 2000 fxdwg and layer her down last year so I had to do the exact same thing! Tank and fenders wise 99-03 is what your gonna want as far as I know... I found a pretty damn nice tank through Craigslist for $100,and that's a steal! If u need a rear fender I can hook u up with a clean specimen.When I changed my dented tank out I found a rear fender on eBay to match the new tank.Therefore I have a nice fender collecting dust!
