glad your ok... i always ride in the back of the pack i have seen this same thing happen over and over man you are not the only one... better to be behind them honestly than in front! i have seen new riders slam into groups of guys in front of them or get nervous riding in groups and wash out taking others with them... glad you had the engine guard on there man! they work!!!
if you want to pull that off we can fill all the scratches in it and coat that for you
Thanks Joe! I just may take you up on that. The scratches are pretty bad about 6" down the bar but not deep. Shame because HD did such a nice job of coating them.
Glad your both OK and bike came out with just a scrape or two. My biggest fear of 2up riding is having my wife get hurt and I'm ok.
Thanks Rooti. You have helped me out on a couple things here. We have the same bike so you know how I feel but thank god no paint damage and like you said I would have felt like hell if my wife had been trapped under it and burned by the pipes and I was fine.

Man, that trick didn't have the decency to stop and help or even notice that she caused you to go down? Did she show up to the bike night oblivious of this incident? I think you are the better man than me for not loosing your cool.
I agree with others and I do the same.... I always ride in the back of the pack, whenever possible. I don't trust anybody, even close friends, when it comes to close pack riding.

Nope she didn't have a clue and I stayed away from her at the event fearing what I might say in anger. Besides, I take responsibility knowing she was not a good rider and me getting to close after taking off. I still don't know why she stopped after taking off. Don't know if she missed a shift, stalled it or just got nervous taking off and turning at the same time. She doesn't even lean into a turn. She chops at it. I enjoy the twisties and lean as far as safe.
Glad to hear you are both OK, what a crappy situation. I'm sorry, rule 1 is to pay attention to everything around you. Even if she was new and whatever happened to make her stop, she should have noticed it impacted people behind her.
And if you do it or someone else, she needs to know what happened so she becomes more aware.
You might want to think of finding others to ride with...
