Unhappy high speed wobble with new risers

Don't know if i should post the question here or in tech help but got a problem after some minor work. Changed my bars from 1.5 " spacers with really short riser/drag bar setup that was on the bike when I bought it. No problems with this setup but tended to lean on the bars and get sore wrists on long trips so I thought I would try taller risers. Got 5" risers which don't really add more than 1.5 to 2" from my current setup. Went for test ride and felt good control/comfort. Let go of clutch handle when going about 50 mph/100kmh and got a wobble going in front end until I grabbed the bars again. Tested again at higher speeds happens every time. My old setup I could let go with one hand for long periods while on the highway, hit bumps and never had any wobble issues. Any ideas about what is happening here and if I can correct things before I change back to old setup??

Riser change would not cause a front end wobble, something else is going on there, maybe low tire pressure or tire cupping, maybe even wheel bearings, etc....

Has anything else changed on the bike recently

Default Wobble

Could be your chest is catching more air and that is causing the wobble...Might want to tighten up the fall away and try putting you chest on the tank before it starts to see if it is caused by oncoming air.
If the fall away doesn't fix it, try an air pressure change in the tire, if neither of those things fix it then you may want to check into a steering damper.

Your stem bearing is loose. Tighten it per service manual specs.

I'll check into that stem bearing or neck bearing thing. Never noticed it before the riser change that is why I thought there might be a connection, guess I'll hold off changing back until I check some things. Steering damper someday maybe but never felt I needed one til this happened. The only other change I did was to throw a medium height hd sissybar and backrest on at the same time so guess I can take it off before next test ride. Thanks for the tips, and I'll post what I find.

Start with tire pressure. Few pounds makes a huge difference

Are you running any kind of windshield that may have changed when you changed the handlebar height?

Your riding position has changed. Different tension on the bars with new set-up. Problem most likely has always been there. The large rotating mass is where the problem starts. Check/have checked: everything to do with the wheel & tire.

Steering head bearings. It is possible that the higher bars have more leverage and cause the bike to ride differently and that is why you wheel the wobble now when you did not before.
