Default Fender widths for different years
i was wondering if anyone knows the rear fender widths by year, my 02 rear fender is 7.75 measured on the outside, what is the width on the 06 and up?

I just put the tape on a 06+ FXD/FXDC/FXDL fender and it's 8 3/8" on the outside, I assume 8 1/4" inside. I also measured the new wide glide fender at 9 1/8" outside (Again, I think 9" inside) at the rear most mounting holes.

THX MattVA, i thought the newer bikes were wider but wasn't sure how much wider, would have liked installing an FLD fender, guess that won't happen now

Edit: Deleted. .wasn't thinking straight. Struts on your bike are too narrow to make it work. Besides those FLD fenders are not cheap.

Edit2: Not too bad, $346 from LSHD primed.

FLD rear fender is 8" outside. It fit my 07 FXDL with room to spare, if that helps.

There's more then just the fender width that changed in '06. The fender donesn't sit in the struts the same. the '05 struts look to be about 1" higher then the '06 and up
