Default Dyna Touring

I'm considering a street bob, my first motorcyle in more years than I care to remember. Most of my riding will be local, but I'd like to take an occasional short trip. I'd like to hear what the group thinks of Dyna's for touring. Are theyat least decent highway bikes? What do you think of the mini-apes as far as being a comfortable riding position?

I sure like the look of Dynas!!

You can go as far as you want on a Dyna. The mini apes are probably as comfortable as any and more comfy than most.
A compact windshield is a must for longer rides.

The Dyna's make excellent bikes for touring. The T-Sport is the best, but then, that's what I ride. It's not the best looking Dyna just the most functional, great bags which are removable, adjustable windscreen, dual disc's on front...blah, blah, blah.

Get a Dyna, you can't go wrong.

all HD's can be comfy for touring. Diff't seat, backrest, pegs, handlebars, w/setc It's all a matter of perspective. You wanna be real comfy, take the minivan. No bike is comfy when you've got a 50 mph side wind and the rain is coming at you sideways but you'll feel like you've accomplished something when you get where-ever you're going on your scoot(even if it's just having survived)

Great bike for long rides.Fifteen thousand miles on mine in ten months.

Get the right controls,I like forwards with mid pegs,a small windshield,a bag that you can lean back on and hit the road. I've done many six to eight hundred mile days on mine in all kinds of weather and loved the trip more than the destination.

Good Luck

Tom

Yep,

You can load 'em up for the hiway and strip 'em down for a ride thru the twisties or downtown - can't do that w/ an Ultra...I luv em all, even V Rods, just like the Dyna best!!!

Just sold myVulcan Nomad last year (the only metric bike I've owned). It wasrock solid and smooth as glass on the freeway. I've owned Dyna's most of my life. Set up correctly, you can ride 300-400 a day miles on them, no problem. If you're planning on carrying a passenger, it's the passenger's comfort that you need to focus on. The passenger seat sits considerably higher than the rider's saddle.Get the taller windshield for the passenger's sake. Get a seat that is passenger friendly. Get a tall sissybar and backrest pad. Age old saying: If she's happy, she'll make youhappy. If she ain't happy, nobody's gonna be happy. If you carry a passenger, you should sit on the back of your bike and ask yourself; "If I had to ride back here all day long, what would I need?"
