Whats going on everyone,
Im looking at getting a set of bolt on bags
i came across some that are part no 90302-98 and 90301-98
it has the cut outs for the turn signals and shocks
says the bolt holes are about 10.5" apart
anyone know what the distance is on the bolt holes for a 12 street bob?
i would just go outside and measure but im at work for another 10 hours....
10 1/4 i believe, so have them check the distance because i thought that pair was actually 10 1/4. I seen the same pair on ebay, but pulled trigger on some road king hard bags instead. I will just fab up my on mounting brackets.
right on, ill see what the guy says
yea i figured someone woudl know what bags i saw
think they would fit?
if not might just make my owning mounting setup
They had recessed area for shocks and a cut out area for hte turn signals which meant no reloc required.
I did figure that the turn signals would need the base modified though. Perhaps drilled out so the bag brace could be sandwiched between the strut and turn signal if that makes any sense? This is assuming one would hard mount the bags otherwise there would be no need for the turn signal cutouts because a quick disconnect kit would require a turn signal relocation already.
The picture below was a rough idea of what i thought could be done to the turn signal to accommodate the bag brace and make it all work as bolt on, not detachable.
Like i said this was just my initial thoughts and would need to thought on some before attempted. but by cutting/drilling out a section you could slip the turn signal over the brace and then run a longer bolt thru the brace and turn signal perhaps. It may need some drilling/tapping into the turn signal stem to accept the bolt that far into the stem and then drilled on the bottom at least for a set screw in case the signal could not be tapped that far in.
