Could some one please tell me the part number of the piece that goes on the jack to keep the Dyna level. I have the standard ATV/motorcycle lift that looks the same as the Harley lift but my bike is not raising level.
fastbydrmike, Is your lift an HD lift or some other brand?? I bought a lift, and a buddy of mine has the same lift and says he has no problems lifting his Super Glide, although it is an older bike, and thet may make a difference. He never said anything about having to use blocks, or anything.I have not opened my lift yet, but if its going to be a problem, I will return it.
Also a question for sporty2003, do you have an HD lift or is it some other brand???
It is actually Harbor freight's atv lift, but I think it is the same as the craftsman/sears lift. It looks exactly the same. I noticed many of these same jacks in the service dept. at the Harley shop also. I could post a picture if that would help, just let me know. I can see how a 2x4 about 3 inches long would work to keep the bike level. Mine is a 05 and it has some kind of electrical thing on the bottom with a guard next to it. I cananglemy jack on the right side toward the rear tire and lift it but I am a little nervous about it.
I just bought the yellow Sears jack and adaptors for my WG, and have yet to figure out where to place the adaptors to get the bike up. Do I place the lift behind the jiffy stand, or in front? I assume two of the adaptors are placed on the stand side, and the other is placed next to the drain pan ridge. Is this correct? Can this be done by myself, or do I need to stand the bike up and let the wife crank on the lift to get it started? I remember seeing a post with directions on using the yellow lift, but could not find it again.
Could someone post the link, or repost the directions for doing it correctly? Thanks for any help.

The three larger blocks snap right on to the lower frame rails, 2 on the left under the outer primary and 1 on the right front under the cam cover. The black rectangular block goes under the thin extension under the transmission since there is no large frame rail at that point to attach the larger block to.
I have found it easier to slide this piece in when there is about 1/4" of clearance between the rail and the lift arm, that way it doesn't slip or move. Once jacked up, the blocks provide a very secure and stable platform, but always use the tie downs, just in case.

The $70 one is taken a beating in the customer reviews, they say its not worth a darn. Now the other one is getting good reviews, but it costs twice as much, but I got a $20,000 bike so I should not be a cheap-skate when it comes to lifting it off the ground, and trusting it with my ride.
Have you actually used yours yet, any problems. I have not even taken mine out of the box yet, and if I don't hear any good news about it, I will take it back and spend a little more money and get something I can trust.

I bought the cheap one at sears and then brought it back before i opened it after reading horror stories about bolts shearing, etc. Got me paranoid but really have no idea on the validity of these statements. The more expensive "yellow" one is pretty easy to operate, and I have no issues with it. One thing that is different is that because of the way they are constructed I believe the jiffy stand must be in the up position with the more expensive jack, but I don't think this is the case with the cheaper one. I can sit on my bike and crank it up until it starts to level out - then as DGlide04 mentioned, I slip the small support in place and I'm good to go. I would think if you have short arms and or legs it might be difficult to reach and pump arm while sitting on the bike?
I also have no idea why HD did not make the odd support so it snaps on the the welded bracket - I think I'm going to modify mine a bit so it stays in place before I start jacking.
