Jacking up a dyna
ORIGINAL: speed8988
I was holding the bike on the left side and my buddy was installing the jack.
I think it was a tight fit to get the jack under the bike with the adapters. I don't know....
I was just going along with him since he has a Heritage and
works on his bike I figured he knew what he was doing.
We did use the one they thin one under the tranny guard.

Even if you have to roll one or both tires up on a 2x10.
I have the same yellow jack and use it 8-10 times a week,
a one man operation. Always be very careful.
That machine weighs about 600 lbs.
With the adapters, your kStand will not be crammed into the frame.

hey mudpuddle, the jack you show in the pictures, is that the sears craftsman $170 model, or is it the Harbor Frieght model that is talked about on here? I have the HF jack but have not even opened the box yet. I'm starting to really consider that craftsman model, or I may just wait until next weekend when the bike show comes to town and see what they have to offer.

Money well spent, I really like it.
Wouldn't hurt to wait and have a look at the bike show.

Hey everyone,
I know this post is old but i have an 05 dyna low rider with the harbor freight yellow jack. I also have the frame leveling kit from HD.
My problem was the jack went under the bike about half way then hit the kick stand spring. Even when you sit the bike straight up it still hits.
My fix...
Two bricks and a board.
You need to people. you'll have to drive the front wheel up on the "ramp" then the other person can slide the jack under perfectly. Just make sure your jack and your frame adapters are lining up. Then they can jack up the bike and all is well. (tip, also watch where the back lifts from too far back will be under your oil plug)
The disappointing part is you need two people to do this. But its better than paying HD for maintaining your bike.
To get the bike off the lift you'll need to make sure you set the ramp under the front tire, and the bike is straight. Lower the bike, (careful the lift release is touchy) have one person operating the lift and the other on the kick stand side holding the front break. (also helps if your bike is in 1st gear). Lower the jack all the way and pull it out. Slowly back the bike off the ramp.
