EMERGENCY! - please help!
First thing to do is check the cable connections on the battery. They are prone to loosen up. I had the same issue and was stranded at a gas pump in a little town. Good thing I carry a leatherman. Pulled the cover and to my amazement, both cables were loose.
I now use a dab of blue locktite on the bolts.

Hmm. Guess some guys plopped out of their mom with greasy fingernails and skinned knuckles. Didn't need any help to learn how to wrench. Maybe the OP decided to look for a forum with a few less badazzes.
lol happened to me the other day left my key in the ig when i was in a hurry came out to a dead battery boo had to push the darn thing up a hill twice cause i tried to bump start it ... needless to say that sucked haha
Guys, just wanted to say thanks to all of those who tried to help. I really appreciate it. To those who just cracked jokes, thanks for the laugh! I'm positive none of you have ever been stranded or needed help in any way. I bet the only problem you have is slipping on the pools of testosterone oozing out of your manly pores, huh? Sheeeit...
I haven't been able to post an update to this yet since I have been without internet access for a while.
Anyway, I did get my bike started, but not until the next day. The next day I went and bought a trickle charger and brought it (and my manual) to work. I took off the panel and hooked up the charger for about 2 hours until it read fully charged. I tried it and it fired right up.
When I went to leave about 10 hours later it started, but barely, and with a lot of difficulty. Right then I thought I probably needed a new battery. When I got home I tried to start it again in the garage... no go. Same thing as before - solenoid chattering, but wouldn't start. Then I was SURE I needed a new battery. It's just not holding charge.
Once again, thanks for the help!
