Default EMERGENCY! - please help!

Hey guys, I need your help really bad. I'm stranded here at work. It seems like my battery just doesn't have enough juice to crank the motor.

I tried to start it. All the lights dimmed and it made a clacking noise. I tried to start it again. More clacking. I took the seat off since my buddy has a battery charger, but I couldn't find out how to access the battery terminals. I have the manual but it is at home.

I tried to start it one more time just for the heck of it. It tried to turn over, but still couldn't get it going.

I thought maybe I could push start it, so I put the key back in, turned the switch to run, put it in 1st gear, pulled the clutch and pushed... and it won't move! It won't go forward or backward with the clutch pulled in. It rolls with a lot of resistance in 2nd gear with the clutch pulled in. It rolls fine in neutral (clutch in or out).

So, what do you guys think? I rode it all the way here and then out to get lunch and back and it was fine other than the difficulty starting. Any idea on why it won't roll in 1st gear with the clutch in? Also, what should I do just to get home?

My bike is a 2009 Super Glide

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

on the right hand side below the seat there is a black squared panel/cover, where "SuperGlide" is written on a chrome band. Remove the screw that old that panel in place and that's where the battery is. the screw is a phillips underneat the panel.

It is totally normal that you can't push it in gear. The clutch disks with the fluid are "stuck" till the force of the engine "shears" them apart.
Your problem is still battery. Push starting an EFI bike with a dead battery is a non starter anyway. You must get a connected charged battery. First make sure all connections are good, at starter and grounds.
Best of luck

I had to push start my old nightster once which was efi. Battery charger or jumper cables works way better but when you are stranded alone or no cablew put it in neutral and if you can get it going down a gentle slope or have some help then with the clutch in pop it to second or third and drop the clutch. I don't think it will work if the battery is totally dead but yours sounds like it has enough juice for this to work. I had to do this down my driveway. It took 3 tries, it sucked. Haha

On my Dyna only the positive cable is accessible unless you take the battery out. Put the jumper cable on the positive and ground the negative to a bolt somewhere.

All an efi system is looking for is a crank turn signal. Once it sees a crank signal, it will fire spark and fuel. Technically, andly car or truck with fuel injection starts like this

Push starting EFI. Neutral, push fast, jump on and put it in second and release clutch.

If you can jump start it, make sure the car you use is not running. You don't want to introduce too much juice into your bike's electrical system.
