EMERGENCY! - please help!
Guys, just wanted to say thanks to all of those who tried to help. I really appreciate it. To those who just cracked jokes, thanks for the laugh! I'm positive none of you have ever been stranded or needed help in any way. I bet the only problem you have is slipping on the pools of testosterone oozing out of your manly pores, huh? Sheeeit...
I haven't been able to post an update to this yet since I have been without internet access for a while.
Anyway, I did get my bike started, but not until the next day. The next day I went and bought a trickle charger and brought it (and my manual) to work. I took off the panel and hooked up the charger for about 2 hours until it read fully charged. I tried it and it fired right up.
When I went to leave about 10 hours later it started, but barely, and with a lot of difficulty. Right then I thought I probably needed a new battery. When I got home I tried to start it again in the garage... no go. Same thing as before - solenoid chattering, but wouldn't start. Then I was SURE I needed a new battery. It's just not holding charge.
Once again, thanks for the help!

If your idea of a man is as puny as knowing how to bump start a motorcycle you should avoid male conflict at all costs.
Just jump the sumbitch and be on your way. I just had to tell this to a friend of mine that said he "couldn't" ride last weekend because his battery was dead. How you gonna let a battery stop you from riding? Push that **** down the driveway and pop it.
OP: Once you get the bike back home, invest $23 into a Battery Tender Jr. and keep your bike plugged in whenever you are not on it and you will not have these issues.
Definitely invest in a battery tender. Roll starting is straight forward enough. Did it for a friend who left his bike on at his skills test, saved him and he passed but I had to run start it in a flat parking lot. Just get it rolling at a good clip, 2nd gear, jump on and drop the clutch.
