Hello all, new to this forum and so far am impressed with the plentiful amount of useful knowledge and DIY mentality that most members have. I've recently purchased another scooter, a 2005 dyna FXDI, knowing that some things weren't exactly right but willing to pull the trigger anyway after I talked the owner down to a banging price. The rear was having some issues obviously when you viewed the bike from the rear. Ample tire clearance on the drive side and relatively none on the disc side, with the wheel cocked at an angle-top side closer to the non-drive. The drive side shock was also cracked at the clevis and pretty much blown up. The bike had obviously taken a hit, even though the owner would not cop to it. I had a flat black swingarm and extra shock off the same year dyna in my garage so my paps and I swapped them out to see if that changed anything, which it did a small amount.
We then moved on to aligning it and pulled the tank to access the top stabilizer and after pulling the drivetrain drive-side the rear wheel is much better in the rear. However there is still some more tweaking needed. My question is, not dealing with alignment with the rubber mounted stuff that often, what other steps are appropriate to take in making sure everything is square up and down? I'm fairly sure the frame struts aren't exactly straight and I'm messing around a a little with those as well, but is there something else? A frame mount or the frame itself could be tweaked but the bike rides awesome so at this point i'm just trying to coax ample and relatively equal clearance out of her. Any opinions? Maybe loosen the isolators and check if I get any more movement? The stabilizer is on the far end right now which leads me to believe I'm missing something unless something is very off-which could totally be the case.

Take a look at the Glide Pro website. He's got an alignment video that covers every aspect of properly aligning these rubber mounted designs. The production quality may not be the best but the technical content is. The video will describe the process for a Touring bike so it won't be exactly the same for your Dyna, but the principles are the same.
Went through the whole rig and the front mount is not looking too good (crazy to me being that it is a 2005), and I have a hunch the rear might be the/an issue. After setting up the bike in the stand and checking all the levels and degrees, the frame seems to be all good. The stabilizer needed way more backing out than I see being needed if all was good. Gonna do some more research and perhaps pull the rear mount out. Seems to me that with the front mount being moosh and the rear being not right it could make the drivetrain migrate to the non-drive like it is. Procedure on glide pro was very good to watch and check myself. Getting there I think. Thanks for the input
