Okay,
So I'm looking at getting a motorcycle and have never owned one before. I'm currently deployed to AFG and can get a good deal on a Harley. I have been looking at the 2013 Wide Glide or a Super Glide. Looking at the specs the Super glide and Wide Glide have about the same specs. Prior to riding I plan on taking the Army Required MSF Safety Course and the the Riders Edge as well. I'm 6ft 180lbs so I didn't want to get a sporters I sat on one priro to me leaving and well my knees were in my chin. Whats your adivce?
superglide custom is the best bang for the buck. It all depends if you like the "bling chrome" look or the raked look. I think the superglide will have a slight advantage in the handling.
Biggest difference is the extended wheelbase on the Wide Glide. Things like bars, forward vs. mid controls, even the 103" motor and 21" front wheel can all be changed on a Super Glide.

So with the extended wheel base on the wide glide would the steering and manuverability be better?
super glide best bang for buck for sure. mid pegs may not be to your liking at 6ft. dont think you will be going wrong with either one. personally i have owned a street bob and a fat bob. i think any dyna is a winner.
Are you looking for a cruiser with more comfort or, to squeeze out as much handling as you can out of a cruiser? In other words, do you want to corner and maneuver the bike at speed and work on getting faster? Or do you just want to chill out and cruise it?
A key component is your own riding ability. If you are brand new, I'd suggest a cheap $2000 beater bike to start with. Unless you are rich, that time u park your shiny new hog wrong and knock it over will break your heart. It will also help you know what you want from a bike. This is what they will tell you in MSF also.
I currently own a 2012 wide glide, and i like yourself stand pretty tall at 6'1" and i didnt like any bike with mid controls, i choose the wide glide becauae of the front rake,103 motor and most inportantly the forward controls and in loving it.
