Default Apes?

Hey there all, so this is my first bike, I recently bought a 2006 Street Bob and I'm now hooked. I'm thinking of changing out the handlebars on it, it has 10in mini apes now, to either 14 or 16in apes (I'm 6ft tall). With going to 14-16 apes, how hard is it to install them myself, and will the current wiring and cables work, or will I have to get longer ones? Is there any bars of that height that work with stock wiring or cables? Thanks for the help guys, semper fi.

I can tell you that my stock wiring was long enough but I had to replace cables with 16" apes.

I would suggest getting the manual. I have never wrenched on a motorcycle and am not even a mechanic but found it quite easy to do with the manual and saved a lot of money....

I used stock cables and wiring on my 14's but I had to re-route the clutch cable.
