I'm thinking of going with the Road6 14in apes, anyone have them, or know anything about em?
ajmilberg I have the R6C 14 in apes. I have been very happy with them, i have 2 or 3 seasons on them and absolutely no problems at all. I am 5'8 hands are at shoulder height with Lepera Datona sport seat. Hands a little above shoulder with my Lepera bare bones seat.

So were you able to use stock wiring and cables? I', still torn between 14 and 16's, I believe the current bars I have are just the stock 10in bars, and I have to lean forward a bit more than I prefer. Probably just going to have to go the my local shop and find something with both and see what feels more comfortable.
HCC (Hill Country Customs) will not give up information they have worked to get.... If you tell them you have a 08 Dyna and want to put 18" apes on it, they will not say you need +8 brake or clutch, or whatever.... but they will sell you the appropriate cable length you need..... IMO, they are priced fairly, about average, maybe $15 more expensive or cheaper than others.....
I told them I had a 2012 RKC, and was puttin on14" apes, and they sent me a clutch and brake cable.... by the time they got here, I had changed my mind, and went with 16"s.... the clutch and brake were still a little too long, just a tad, but I was glad I told them 14s.......
Just my experience. I will order from them again, and will tell them I am putting on 2" shorter bars than I really go with.

ajmilberg, the shop that installed my apes added wire. I have read that it depends on how much extra "slack" the original wiring has from the factory.
Also I have read on this forum, that if sit on your bike, and hold a broom handle out with your arms in comfortable position, then measure. This will give you a good starting point as far as height/rise of the bars you would like. It may take two people.
I could ride with the 16's, but slow speed turning would become somewhat more challenging with my height/arm length.
