I had the foot peg mount footboards for awhile they were not bad after I got them adjusted to fit me. I'm running the Harley footborad kit # 50500247 now & I like it much better. The harley kit list price is $399.95 & I got mine for $319.96 from lshd1

Never have seen the first set before, doesn't look as solid because of the single mounting point.
The second set is a reproduction of the Dyna Defender Police footboard set up. Your feet sit quite high on them because of the tall sprung seat available on the police configured bike.

made for the modern Dyna by H-D. If you buy from one of the 20% off online dealers you might pay as little as $320. Good luck.
These are modeled off of the '12 FLD. I put them on my '06 Superglide, ordered from the '12 FLD parts book before the kit was available (and paid a lot more for it). They are by far the best out there if you are in the 6' or taller range. Your only other concern would be clearance for your exhaust with the right/rear bracket.(Something else to take into account). If you are unsure; go to your dealer and, sit on a FLD (Switchback). That will give you a pritty good idea how they would feel on your '06 or newer Dyna
For those of you in the 5' something range; the the FXDP (Defenders) may work better. They are a little higher and a little further back.
Hope this helps....
Best wishes....Tim(HT)

Reason: Because I can.
Those look like they will result in quite a bit less ground clearance, but otherwise look like a decent product for the price. I went with the HD mini floorboards. They were a breeze to install and only cost about $100. They aren't full sized, but they are adjustable for angle and provide a much larger area for your feet to rest versus stock footpegs.

Think I understand where you're coming from with the question ... you want reassurance that you won't have to change out the primary ...
While it is true that they replace both the mid and forward controls ... when starting with the forward controls, they will not require any change vis a vis the primary ...
The shifter mechanism mounts on the front bracket for the floorboard and are quite similar physically to the forward control shifter ... same with the brake side ...
I had forward controls and I didn't change the shift lever on the transmission. The lever that comes in the kit is only about a 1/2" shorter. Here's mine footboards installed shifter side.
