Ok I am the second owner of an 06 wideglide. First the primary bearing, second the stator. Both I was left holding the bag to fix. I fixed myself because the dealerships refused. Now my local independent shop tells me he has figured out my hard start and "cold" idleing issues. Service Bulletin M -1185. "In the interest of promoting customer satisfaction...." 8* fuel injectors have been replaced with 25* injectors. Yep i have the "old" injectors. Call the dealership and the motor company only to be told those "would" have been covered under warranty work. My warranty has long since expired. My problem is the motor company knew about all these issues and design flaws and i am left to fix them myself because i am the second owner. Freakin awesome HD way to stand behind your product. Proudly built in the USA.
are you running a tuner? if so that will adjust for the injectors... when did you last clean your TB? may want to clean it out.... when i ported and polished mine I installed the 25* injectors as well, before dyno, but HD would not cover them... easy enough swap though bud
Sorry to hear of the headaches man... I had an 06 FXDLR.. those bikes (the 06s') were truely a year all there own with unique issues.. some fellas (on here) have never had any of the common issues associated with them.. I had them both but luckily they were covered under warranty at the time..
I'd say to get back in the MoCos' ear about it depending on how P-O'd you are.. yeah.. you shouldnt have to.. they should make it right without issue...
Joe brought up an excellent idea as an approach to your TB and injector issues.. and luckily as Joe identified.. its a fairly easy swap over to change them out..
I'm sorry Haven't had any of your issues and can't give you any insight to your issues man but just wanna say I hear you with dealership problems I'm not fond of my local dealer AT ALL... Someone should start a thread w HD dealership issues I could fill probably fill 3 pages... The guys at mine are so laid back, lazy, and easy to dismiss issues, you have to scream and throw a fit to get anybody's attention and get them to do some work for you. Unless of course you are looking to buy a new bike or parts they don't like to answer questions or help you troubleshoot, just my local dealer experience... Id be livid man letem have it and good luck...
