So here's something that I just can't seem to figure out. Thought maybe someone on here might have an idea what might be causing this.
I have Vance and Hines Big Shots with a custom AC (see picture in sig) on my Dyna. I use a PowerVision with Autotune Pro to scan and tweak my tune. I installed the canned tune that FuelMoto included with the PowerVision and then ran the autotune a couple times to refine it.
The bike runs great. Cold starts it fires right up. It's restarting it when warm that's the problem like if I stop to get gas. When I go to restart it, it pops through the carb and doesn't want to start. Almost like the timing is off and/or it's got a ton of raw fuel in the cylinder when it isn't supposed to. If I twist the throttle once before I start it, no problems. If I try to start it and, after it protests, then twist the throttle once and try again, fires right up.
Also, the more miles I put on the bike, the worse the condition seems to get. This morning it really popped and banged whereas when I first put the most recent tune on it wouldn't do this at all. Almost seems like the fuel trims are flooding the engine when I come to an idle and shut the bike down. I don't get it.
I'm guessing you can adjust the cold start on your Powervision. When I had my bike dyno'ld, after he was done, he let it get completely cold and had to adjust the cold start. Maybe its not getting enough choke?
I use the power vision and a FM custom tune. When I first loaded the tune it idled bad so I reloaded the tune and was sure to reset the trims and now it runs and starts perfectly so try resetting the trims.
Jon
Cold starts are good but rooti, are you saying that I might be able to change the threshold as to what constitute "cold" starts? IE, change the temperature level of what "cold" is? If so I could definately play around with that, maybe lower that number so that it doesn't add more fuel to help the bike start if the bike is already past a certain temp.
wfojon, That's just it. When the tune is first loaded it's fine (trims are clear). The more I ride (thus the more the trims have "learned" the new tune) the worse the problem seems to get. I ALWAYS reset the trims when I upload a tune.

Any of you guys have any thoughts on this?
Is it definitely related to the tune you added i.e. it started as soon as you added this tune? I ask cos it sounds like an IAC problem to me.
No that's the odd thing. It is connected to the new tune as with the stock tune it doesn't do this. It didn't happen as soon as I put the tune on the bike, it started up after a few weeks. Then it gets progressively worse. This is what leads me to thinking it's a fuel trim issue.
I would post the question on the sticky thread in the Powervison tuning section.
There are much knowledgeable people then me there. It does sound like it's a simple adjustment.
Just search, powervision tuning sticky and it will pop right up
