Good to see its not just Aussie stealers that stink like big foots dick. I have a hundred stories of outrageous qoutes for work and wildy over priced parts...its a shame they cant repay our brand loyalty with reaonable service and pricing.....

Why even let them do the 1,000 mile service? I let my Indy do mine and saved 50% from what the stealership charges. Just keep your receipts

I'm pretty sure mechanics at every shop mess up things, not just Harley dealers. Polaris/Yamaha/etc etc etc techs are not gods. And neither are Harley techs for that matter. Price may differ but if you get a crappy tech to work on the bike, price really doesn't matter....
Do all your own work if you can, that's how I avoid these issues...

Sports bike (metric) mechanics aren't cheaper because they're foreigners,they're American mechanics trained to work on foreign bikes like those who work on Porsche,Mercedes,BMW etc.

Doing a quick search of the forum, I had to go back to July of 2009, to find two recommendations for Harley dealers. I'd like to think there must be a few forum members out there, who have had a good experience with there dealers?
