I got one for long trips/highway-good coverage of hands and windblocking. I went with the 9 inch shield but found as soon as it was covered in bugs or scratched, I was trying to look over it and it became more of a hindrance. Would go lower sometime, maybe 5 inch. Tried the HD dyna windshield on a guys dyna on the trip, good coverage and you can actually look down at the road through the windshield for obstacles/potholes, where the batwing blocks that. Had to move my front signals down to forks as well, where his were not. I think the batwing looks okay. Either would be good for touring.
I have a batwing but it's not on full time. Early spring and late fall when the mornings are chilly, sometimes for road trips it's nice to have a radio. Only takes a minute or two to take it off or put it on.
I agree, we don't want to damn many of them out there!
You guys pushed me over the edge and I ordered a batwing tonight.
I also see from your picture that you were able to get the batwing on without removing/relocating your turn signals which is what I plan on doing for now and may relocate them eventually.
