I have a 2008 FXD and I'm running a HD run turn brake module to use my turn signals as brake lights.
I'm on my second RTB module from HD and I've been running the bike this way for about 6months now.
Today I get ready to leave working and I notice the security key lights up when I hit a turn signal. Soon after that I realize I have no turns and no brake.
I pull over and check the fuses and they are good.
I unplug the module and plug in the wiring harness the correct way and I get nothing. (It won't function normally this way because of how the lights are wired but I will at least see running lights or a turn signal) and the security key lights up.
Before I take off my rear fender and check all the wiring, has anyone seen this before? Anything I'm overlooking?
Hold the trip button down and cycle to ignition. You will see it say DIAG across the screen. If you keep hitting trip it should Say ECM BCM and SPEEDO with either a Y or a N with it.
When you get to each code, hold the trip button down for 30 seconds and erase, then start the bike up run it for a bit flip the signals and see if it comes back. Looks like a possible short, did you just install LEDs?
Just double check your battery ground, and then double check all wiring connectors on the rear right under the fender make sure they are clipped all the way in. These codes can also get thrown if both bulbs are starting to go out in the Turn Signals.
I found the problem. Part of the wiring harness had been rubbed by the tire when I had the bike lowered. The ground wire had frayed apart. (I went back to the original shocks). Had to pull the fender off to fix it. Thanks for the help.
