I just installed the kit that turns your rear amber turn signals into red ones, and makes them act as running/brake lights as well. I had this same kit on my '07 ULtra, but I don't remember seeing this: when I turn the key to Accessory mode, the rear turn signal lights turn on. None of the other lights are on in Accessory mode, they are only on in ignition mode. Has anyone else seen this? Is it intended? Now I'm worried whether leaving the bike in Accessory mode (to play the radio while washing the bike, for example) will drain the battery too quickly. I suppose not, since it is just the two small lights.
I had one of those on my 2010 Ultra Classic, and took it off when I traded it in. I installed it on my 2012 FLHTK and it does not do that. No lights are on in acc. mode. No that is not normal!
It's normal when you add that module. You can allegedly swap around two wires in the plug to change it.
I'd like to know which two wires to swap so I could listen to the radio as I clean/service the bike each weekend.
I don't have electric service out to the area where I typically work on it so I've currently been pulling the seat and disconnecting the module if I'm going to be out there for any length of time.
And I only forgot to plug it back in once, (errr maybe twice.)!
I just went out and checked mine. Yep, rear turns and speedo light comes on in acc mode. And mine was installed by the dealer.
Just checked mine on an 07 and the lights are on when acces. switch is on. . I don't think they draw enough to worry about if listening to the radio. I usually have the battery tender hooked up anyway. No help for Stiggy tho.
