Frenchbiker, can you elaborate on the mods you did. I would like to do the same to mine. I've always thought it looks like the brakes are always on.
Thanks, kj
PM me your email address and I'll send you the complete instructions with pictures. It's very easy to do. By the way, this mod is not my creation. It's a popular mod and the credit goes to the guy who designed it and who published the detailed instructions, not me.

Thanks Dawg, I might try that, but I'm not sure yet whether I want to give up the running like function on those lights. The pics are good except the shadows of the wires confused me at first - they look like additional wires.

It's up to you but if you happen to follow your bike one day, you might come to the same conclusion me and several others made. The switch from running light to brake/turn light isn't very obvious with a single filament bulb.
I much prefer to clearly alert someone behind me that I'm braking or turning vs. simply signaling my presence. I have a tail light and 2 running lights in the TourPak for that.

Thanks for posting this link. It will be my next rainy day project.

Dawg and KJ68,
I tried following these instructions but the wire colors are different on my kit. It's a new kit - maybe they have changed the colors. Mine has FOUR blue wires to each connector. Blue with purple, blue with red, and blue with orange(?), then just solid blue. Since the colors are different I don't want to mess with it until I'm sure which wires to change. Anyone have updated instructions for these wires?
I do like the idea of having the turn signals NOT be running lights. I agree with Frenchie that it would make the brakes show up much more, and heck I already have the Tour Pack lights and fender light.
