Sorry it took so long to get these up, but here you go. Not exactly a glamourous shot, but I guess it'll do.

I know what you mean, you wanna make sure you do it once and that your happy with it. I think when it comes down to it you'll be happy whichever way you go, your just over-thinking it. Post some pics when you get it done.

After spending hours out in my garage with a damn tape measure the past couple days I ordered my bars.

I know for a fact I'd like the 12" bars, but wasn't sure about the 14's. So I went with the sure thing.

Ordered the complete kit from Hill Country Customs. Bars, risers, new controls pre wired thru the bars with the Harley plugs already installed on them...plug and play! Plus all the stainless cables. Should get it a week or so into Jan.

I may look at the bike and wish I'd gone with "real" apes, but I know I'll be most happy riding down the road with the bars I'm getting.

Thanks for everyones replies.

Congrats on getting the bars YOU want. That is what it's all about. 12" apes rock as much as any other apes. Cool deal on getting the complete plug and play set up. I can totally appreciate that. Wiring bars takes time, and sometimes that is the limiting factor for me as well.

Gotta post some pics when those 12" bad boys are finally on your machine.

Cheers,

Tom

Big brown truck just dropped off a massive box. HCC sure knows how to package stuff. Rode down and picked up some poly riser bushings, and new washers earlier today at J&P. Everything from the trees up will be shiny new except for my grips and mirrors.

Might have some after pics tomorrow.

No worries except they sent a 48" brake line and I needed a 52". Could have been due to the inverted front end. Called J&P and asked if they had a 52" line at the Daytona shop, and as usual they said no....same thing they told me when I bought my rear tire, and riser bushings. Drove down anyhow and they had it just like the other 2 times the parts were there.

Just looking at the bars off the bike, I had already wished I'd gone 2" over like several said. Not sure if it's due to the front end or what, but after installing them...their perfect. Took it out for a quick ride in the rain, and I love them!

I took a couple pics, but had to do it in the garage with a speedlight.

Before

After...I know my garage is a mess.
