Drove down anyhow and they had it just like the other 2 times the parts were there.

Just looking at the bars off the bike, I had already wished I'd gone 2" over like several said. Not sure if it's due to the front end or what, but after installing them...their perfect. Took it out for a quick ride in the rain, and I love them!

Kevin,

I think those look really nice on your bike! 14's would have too. What I think is most important is of course the comfort factor. Seems like you scored on both counts. Nicely done sir! Congrats.

You can always experiment with some risers for kicks, I did! =)

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks,

Only thing that sucks is the clutch cable is too long, shame they didn't send a brake line 4" longer, and a clutch cable 4" shorter.

Those apes look good on your bike. I just ordered drag bars with a 9" rise and think that maybe I should have gone with some apes after seeing your pictures.

That looks nice, you have to go whats comfortable with you. I was in the same boat as you wondering until i had a couple of buddies that had some apes and tried it to see what was comfortable. I'm just glad I went with 16's its a much better ride and much more comfortable with more control. Just on the other end change your bushings to your risers, poly is the way to go.

Looks good brother. I am doing a new ape install myself and the internal wiring is being a bitch ha. I got to looking at your pics and was wondering if you ran the clutch cable up between the back of your forks and tank then through the middle of your apes to the handle if that would take some slack out.

I moved it so it runs between the trees and the bars...doesn't stick out in front at all now.

My 12" bars on 1.5" risers are just about perfect shoulder height. I never thought they would be that tall, only thing I can figure out is the inverted front end comes up higher than the stock. If I'd gone with 14" bars I wouldn't have liked it. Just rode about 65 miles, and it feels like it's custom fit for me.

Got a pair of J&P heavy duty poly bushing in there.
