I just picked up my Streetbob from being dynoed today. I had been running a Power Commander map that wasn't specific for my setup. It was for a 2006 Dyna with SE Stage 1 A/C andVance and Hines Big Shot Staggereds. I have the SE Stage 1 A/C with V&H Short Shot Staggereds and the Stage 1 download.
The basline dyno they did with the map I was running was 73.47 hp and 77.89 torque
After being tuned it was 78.22 hp and 81.14 torque.
I picked up a few hp and some torque, but the throttle repsonse seemed much better, and there was no popping on decel that I would get every now and then with the old map.
I'm happy with it, definitely think it's worth the money spent to have a custom map for your particular set up.
I found that the fine tuning that can be accomplished on a dyno can be amazing. A little adjusting here and there brings out a marked difference in performance.
I had the same throttle response improvement with my carb re-jetting after looking at the air/fuel ratio from the dyno report. As I did the re-jetting myself at home after the dyno run, I cannot give numbers to state the improvement, but I know it will be a nice gain.
Wow,... thats pretty impressive for just a stock TC88. I'm fixing to install a set of the Caliber 2 into 1 exhaust, which is supposed to really make a good bit of power. I am gonna have my local dealer do a dyno tune and I'll be happy to have my numbers in the neighborhood of yours.
78 & 81 are good results. I know my bike is in that range because the tech who dynoed mine said he usually gets all the stage 1's up in the high 70's. But I forgot to ask for the print out and left the dealership so he saved it for a day and then threw it out. I didn't even think about it for 2 days....[:@]
The smooth acceleration and even throttle response is worth the $$ IMO..
thanks for the info. I am about to put a PC on my Wide Glide. Was kind of wondering if I could get by without the dyno, but it looks like it is worth having it done.
