what about that black star **** on the bottom of the hand grip on the handle bar that makes it harder to twist. (feels heavier) I have no free play in my throttle and use the **** to take the sensitivity out of it.

 

You mean the throttle lock cruise control? Using that wears on the grip.

 

when I took mine in for it's first service last year, my throttle was "sticky", so I told the service manager, He said" we'll throw a new throttle on". They did and mine was the same as you describe. A few days later my buddy and his OL got new bikes his- Street Glide, hers- Wide Glide. I took them both for a spin.They were both the same. Throttles are ment to be touchy on the FI bikes. Ride it. Yuo will get used to it... I did.

 

It's a 2007 Wide Glide. Let me play around with the cables and see if I can give it a bit more play. I went over a speed bump this past weekend and I could feel the bike jerking because of the sensative throttle. Don't like it.!

 

My 2012 Fat Bob is the same. I hate it too.

 

Is this just something common with FI bikes??
