What is this?
Funny ... recently I was kind of scratching my head about the same thing ...
... shortly after I got my bike I removed the purge hose, etc. ... and put a cap over the tube ... about a week or so ago, I was noticing the cap had deteriorated and was no longer closing off the tube ... so I took it off ...
... I couldn't remember what the story was on the tube, so this thread refreshed my memory ... THX!
... guess it's time for a trip to and auto parts store to see if I can find another cap for the tube ...

p.s. Is the tube just on CA models or is it the same on 49-state models, too ...?

Yep, I went to Auto Zone and bought 6 vacuum line caps all the same size for $1.99 and plugged mine off and have some in the ole tool kit in case I lose one or somebody needs one! Thanks for the heads up on this tube!
