Im a little confused on this part, so bare with me. Did you have to de-pin your old turn signal wiring harness and pin it to the new tail light harness in order for everything to work? What are those extra black connectors for on the new harness?
The extra connections are in case you want to run regular turn signals AND the integrated signals.
The load equalizer is there to ensure everything works properly.
Question for those with this light... about to pull the trigger on a "smoked black-out" integrated tail light from custom dynamics and am wondering about getting the license plate window or not.
I know by law you need one, but with my lay-down license plate I don't see it being very effective. For those of you with the window, does it even illuminate a lay-down style plate?
Here's my plate mount I just installed from HogRida, very nice product BTW... As you can see the factory light won't even shine on the plate:
I don't see how the Custom Dynamic one will either, unless the LED's are actually angled back pointing towards the front of the bike.
I didn't get the window on mine, figured it wouldn't do any good with the Hogrida laydown tag.
Like you, I was concerned that I needed to illuminate the tag, so.... I went with the illuminated tag frame from Custom Dynamic and it works great and looks killer IMO

I can't believe that I'm not able to find any pictures of these lights at night online... haha.
It would be easier just to order one with the window, but if it's useless I'd rather not. I was thinking of maybe using some of those little LED license plate bolts if I have to. In Canada our plates are 5x8 and all those LED frames like you have are made for 4x7 plates so they won't work.
Ended up going with the Custom Dynamics integrated tail light, it's the smoked/blackout with license window. I think it looks great, and the LED's are very bright.
Only issue I'm having is that when signalling, the lights blink slow like normal, but after the 4th flash they speed up. I also noticed on initial "Key On" both turn signals flash simultaneously a few times.
I did add their Signal Stabilizer at the same time, supposedly should work like a fancy load resistor. But it functions the same with or without the stabilizer. I followed there synchronization instructions as per the manual but still no luck.
Anyone ever experience this? Oh, and if it matters... I don't have front signals.
So, will I need the extra part to make the lights function properly on a 2010?
I just did the SG fender swap on my 2011 SB and went with this light also. I did not order the load equalizer, but had to remove the STT module as the turns wanted to stay lit up all the time. It is in line with the harness so pulled it and everything works great.
