Default Question about 21" Front Wheel

Hey gang,

I just had my bike picked up today for the winter mods to begin:

-Switch out rear spoked wheel and replace with a solid chromed Deuce wheel
-Replace Burly Slammers with Progressive 11" rear shocks
-Replace front lowers with chromed lowers
-Replace tires
-replace rear tail light with low profile smoked style

My bike is a 2009 Super Glide Custom.

Here is the question: Going from a 19" to a 21" front wheel will the stock fender accomodate the new size? We will see if I need new Fork Tubes etc. But we weren't sure about the fender.

Thanks all!

OV

On the '09 Bob the front fender looks great with a 21" tire with no mods...not 100% sure if your front is identical to mine though.

It will bolt right on as long as it is a 21x2.15. It can get a bit tight with a 21x3.25. The brackets for the fender will be extremely close to the tire if not touching with the wider rim and tire.

I have a street bob, and the 21x3.5 rim fits under the fender wearing a Metzeler 120-70-21 tire. Not sure if we have the same fender, but pretty sure it will fit for you too.

I'm running a 90/90-21 on my '09 FXDC and it fit fine with no mods to the fender.

Are you relacing a new rim on your stock hub?

The street bob's are with the 49mm front ends are different than the 05 and earlier Dyna's with the 39mm front ends.

@macnab_sf - How did the switch effect the handling. We do alot of mountain rides and I am not looking to reduce the handling to improve the looks.

My handling improved. My 21" rim is aluminum, where the stock 19" rim was steel.

Agreed, just saying what worked for me. I believe the OP has an '09.
