HID install in 5 3/4 dyna headlight
Just got an HID kit for my street bob, just wanted to see where and how you guys mounted your ballest, and any pics would be awesome! ! Thanks guys, can't wait to get this installed..
wiring is super easy!
the Previous owner cut a jagged hole in the back of the lamp, so i cleaned that up and used a gromit to protect the wires
use the adapter kit to plug in for the power
i installed the ballast on this to the fairing

Word of caution, I bought a HiD kit online while in NC from a company out of Cali for my 03 FXD. When riding up to my bro's house who lives in NJ, the ballast completely fried(all wiring was correct) at about 10 o'clock at night in the middle of nowhere Virginia. I was stuck, on the side of the road, with no headlight whatsoever. I waited till 630 the next morning before I drove to a Walmart and got a halogen bulb.
Not sure if anyone else has ran into this, but I would recommend carrying a spare halogen bulb just in case.
Worst part??? My bro has a 12 FatBoy Lo with the HD LED lamp, and love, love, loves it. Looks awesome, and bright as day.

sounds like something grounded out... you can always unplug the lamp and run a stock lamp as well just unplug the ballast... simple fix

Thanks Joe! Ill wire mine up thursday and take pics to post me experiance with it. Should be easy, hopefully I don't need an extension cable cause I haven't ordered one yet. Well see.
