2006 Superglide Outer Primary Choices
I have a 2006 Superglide with the silver powder coated outer primary. I have been shopping for a chrome replacement. With the self-adjusting chain on the 06s, there is no longer a removable inspection plate in the primary.
I have seen older primaries for salemuch cheaper than the primary specific for the 06. Can I buy, for example, the primary off an 04 softtail and the separate inspection plate with the hole for the shifter and use it on my 06.

I have run across a couple on Ebay, but the prices have been premium. I assume this is because these are harder to come by being as they only fit the newer models.

The outer primary on the '06 is different and no previous years covers will fit. I got mine from Chicao Harley for 20% off. The quality is superb on my chrome primary cover.
