Hey guys. Just recently purchased a 99 fxdx. I am trying to decide between the Thunderheader in black or the Bassani. I was leaning towards the Thunder because I want loud and most power possible as i don't plan on any major engine mods. Yet, I've heard bad things about the build and finish of the Thunder.
The Bassani looks pretty good. What is everyone's experience with this pipe.

Thunderheader does make noise and power. But I heard the finish SUX! If all your doing is adding pipes and a/c and fuel mgmt, there is better options out there in my opinion. In the end, I am going with the V&H Pro Pipe.
The bassani is very popular in Texas. Most of the HD employees run them, they are great pipes. I went with the propipe only cause I like the look better and I doubt there is any measureble difference in HP
I don't know much about the Bassani. The TH quality didn't do it for me. The Pro Pipe had the look and I've had good luck with a lot of V&H products over the years.
only thing ive noticed about my thunderheader is that its starting to discolor a little around the motor. but its also got 10,000 miles on it so im not complaining. not to mention i bought mine to ride it, not spend more time cleaning it. dont get me wrong, i want mine to look nice and clean and all, but its not a show bike. so im not worried about pipe discoloration.
