i was looking at works black trackers. I like the look of them and i know they are better than progressive. I have also not really heard bad things about them.
I am curious about how/if rear shocks can help with rear wheel wobble which is caused by a lateral movement of the engine/swingarm when in fast, hard turns? Someday I will want to upgrade my shocks and front end but for me I am starting with True-Track. What True-Track improves does not seem related to what rear shocks do, am I missing something?
If anybody does not know yet, there is a True-Track Group Buy going on in the Touring area that includes the Dyna - the offer ends Jan 31st.

Reason: Spacing
I don't know the answer to your question but I do not have any rear wheel wobble. Everybody is different, but I wanted to smooth out the jaring ride. When I first got the bike I thought it was great...but I had been on sportster for 2 years
well i dont think that shocks take care of what true track does.
I would like to get shocks 13.5 for plenty of travel
true track to take care of the the tranny mounted swingarm issues
and springs to help the front end
probably over thinking this one but should you also get single rate springs for your shocks? would the same though process apply to the rear of the bike?
Everything is tied together. The shocks will affect the side to side wobble inherent in all Harley rubber-mount drive trains. A good set of shocks can help the situation but the wobble will still be there if pushed hard enough. Even installing stabilizers such as the True Track or Sputhe (that I prefer) will not completely eliminate the flex but it will greatly help.
I'm running a pair of Works nitrogen over oil cartridges up front and a pair of Ohlins 906's on the rear of my 09 FXDC along with a Sputhe stabilizer. Works great.
It wont stay up with my R1200S but it aint no slouch either.

This makes me feel better about going the direction I am going, because I know you put a lot of time and thought into front and rear shocks. I still scratch my head why some Dynas get rear wheel wobble and some don't.
On another note, would you recommend working on the front or rear first, I can only get away with so much $$$ at a time. Thanks, Alan.
Most people upgrade the rear first because thats what seems to affect the actual ride the most. Once you get over that cost, the front is much cheeper.
I would highly recomend the ricor shocks for the 600 price range. Do a search on Muds post with his install comparing them to his ohlins.
Here is a pic that Mud took of the ricors. I think they are a pretty good looking shock.
