Just received the HD chrome engine guard for my SGC and can`t believe it attaches to the frame with u bolts!! Looks like crap. I will be installing footboards in the future so I will need the forward control mounts to be accessible. I can`t believe HD does not have a bracket that can accommodate both. Looks like my only option is to paint the u bolts and bar end gloss black so it blends (hides) in with the frame. Does anyone know of any other options??
Paint the clamps and run with it. I use duplicolor ceramic caliper paint when doing these kinds of thing. Matches well with vivid black dries fast and is a tough paint.
