I also have a bagger and did not even need to change the seat, controls or bars to have plenty of room. You are paying for the extra space and size as you go up. I guess you just have to debate what you are willing to change and how your platform will serve you. For me, the Dyna was too small of a platform. However, they are great bikes and more power to those with diverse choices. I would be miserable if everyone road exactly my bike.
I again disagree.

In terms of its dimensions in 2010 the dyna actually has the longer wheelbase and lower seating position.......so the size issue is more illusion in terms of the bikes key metrics.

I'm 6"7 and at least a dollar thirty in kilos

I'm super pleased with my 2010 street bob, it has forwards and a sidekick seat.

It's almost perfect, I ride 160km round trip every day.

I have some bonanza apes to go on and am thinking about a solo seat but I'm in no rush.

I sat on a road glide and it felt cramped, I made it look small.

I think this is the best advice on this thread so far. I am 6'5" @ 250 pounds and I feel the most comfortable on the Wide Glide than any other model made by HD. As far as suspension...I agree with what you said 100%. I don't care what the badge reads on your tank...suspension is usually the first item a maker can save a few bucks on and often times stock suspension is one step higher than crap. I also own two Triumph Bonnies and same story...change the rear shocks out along with a heavier rated spring up in the forks and you have a brand new ride. Increase the quality of suspension and the bikes handling improves dramatically which in turn makes the riding all the more kick a$$.

IMHO, if you feel cramped on a Dyna, it's probably because it has mid-controls. Forwards make it feel like a completely different bike. Makes a world of difference. While the Road King is more comfortable for long hauls, when I go from it to the Dyna, I don't feel cramped at all. Different and not quite as bulky but it certainly doesn't feel like a smaller bike. There is not a huge weight difference either.

I love the way my street bob feels with the suspension upgrade. Made a huge difference. Smokes my electraglide now. Two different types of comfort. But if I get to choose the bike I ride my dyna.

I love my Super Glide. I'm 6'0" and 190. I just added the FLD footboard kit and I don't have more than a couple miles on it ...I love it. The only way I'll go to a bagger is if I pick up an OL and have to carry her baggage too.
