I think he was refering to our size when he said "babies" look at his #'s. He's a big dude. No offense to you Id.FatBob, Have you done and mods to your bike like bars? Did your sled come with forwards?
Ohhhhhhh ok...I thought he was being nasty. Some of these keyboard commandos are real dicks. Sorry bro no offense I getcha now.
SLV & Kenny....just gotta tell you that your bikes are 2 of my favorites on this forum. I like both of your sleds.
Comfort on a Dyna is all about 3 things: controls, seat, and bars. For me, I had forwards put on my FXDC before I picked it up, I recently bought a Corbin Dual Tour seat, and I've got the stock bars because I like them & think they're comfortable the way they are. I love the look of apes, but they're not comfortable for me. I do like drag bars too, which I might consider someday if I could pick up a set of factory drag bars off of an FXDF & put extended risers on them.
I'm 6'1"+ with a 34" inseam and 215 lbs & my Dyna fits me near perfect.
Why thank you Sharkman!
I thought mods were the tough choice, turns out, it's restraint from too many mods.
Your mistress is looking pretty hot too, if I say so myself.
2012 fxdc at 5"11 with the mids my legs were a bit cramped but the bike never felt small at all to me. With the forwards on made all the difference in the world.
Little boss, what forward controls are you using and far are they extended? I have the same bike. I'm 6'3 and would like to extend mine at least 2". I figure if I extend the controls 2" and a new seat will move me back an inch I would be golden. I also need ape hangers pretty badly. The stock bar position blows for me.
They are Kuryakyn forwards, they extend out about 2 inches more than stock. With long legs they are worth it. Here is a pic. LB

I have a 02 FXDP and a 07 FLHTC and i love both, they are both suited to a specicic type of riding but both great bikes... The FXDP is very nimble and power to weight ration is freakin awesome....that thing rips compared to my bagger......And since i have it set up right now, My wife can ride it at 5'4" comfortably and so can I at 6'1" 250lbs...I put a rider backrest on it and it makes the back feel great....see the before and after...the after (right) should have different pipes, i swapped them for Screaming eagles...
6'00 and 300 lbs here. Me and my Street Bob get along just fine! Great for twisties, long trpis and daily rider. I do not add foward controls, only pegs and that works for me. Long rides and my bag supports the back, look like a hill billy , but hell guess thats what I am!!
I am a big dude. Likely a little bigger than most at 6'1 350. The Dyna's seemed too small (although we had a sporty at the time which also seemed small). I just felt bunched up and cramped. However, I understand that you can always kick out the controls, raise the bars and stretch it out. Only thing about it is... you can do the same thing on a soft tail and end up with even more room. I also have a bagger and did not even need to change the seat, controls or bars to have plenty of room. You are paying for the extra space and size as you go up. I guess you just have to debate what you are willing to change and how your platform will serve you. For me, the Dyna was too small of a platform. However, they are great bikes and more power to those with diverse choices. I would be miserable if everyone road exactly my bike.
My Dyna is the best touring rig around. I'd rather ride the Dyna than a bagger. Light, great handling and comfortable as can be. Bagger for me? One day but not yet.
The Sportster is a smaller bike but I don't understand why anyone would think Dynas were small. I'm 6'1"/290lbs and all I needed was forward controls and to adjust the bars forward. While the Road King is definitely the king of comfort for me, I'm much more comfortable on my Street Bob than on any of the Softails I've ridden.
It's all perception. I'm 5'9" 165 on a good day and the Dyna feels fine normally. But I have gotten of the Street Glide and jumped right on the Dyna to run out and do something and I'm here to tell ya the Dyna felt like a little kids toy when you roll 'em back to back like that.
