I put 6000 miles on my BOB in 6 months = I love riding it.
Go ahead get the BOB you won't regret it.

PERSONALLY, I'd go for the SG Custom in vivid black, but either one would be great!

I was in the same boat as you, it had been about 12 years since I last rode (Honda 500). I bought the 2007 Street Bob (gloss black). Personally, I like the flat black engine, stock it has a little chrome to help accent the look. If you also like the flat black engine look, you'll save money "not" having to add chrome later.

The Street Bobhasa nice feel while riding. This is my first Harley, so I'm not expressing a great deal of experience with Harley.
