I got the 14" ape hanger install almost wrapped up and ran into a snag with the new Magnum Shielding clutch cable. It is a +4 cable.
The install on the cable went well, I followed the manual closely.
I have cable adjusted with an 1/8" play, but the clutch will not engage.
I havent started it up yet as I need to bleed the front brake and wash the bike up.
Searching I seen a few have this issue but worked itself out after start-up. Is this normal?
Anything you think could be wrong if this is not normal.
1: Wind in all the adjustment on your cable so it has full slack.
2: Take off the derby cover, adjust the centre adjuster on the actual clutch as per the manual.
4: Check the clutch has engaged
5: Adjust the cable to give 2mm slack at the lever.
If your clutch still won't engage at step 4 then you screwed up the installation and you'll need to pull the trap door cover and sort it out before going back to step 1.
6: This is the only way to sort your problem out...
I pulled the derby cover but no adjustment was needed.
After cleaning it up I started it, put it in gear and it was good.
So I guess this is pretty normal.
