Talking V+H Short shot BCT modified baffles, great result! w/video and pics

Since I installed a set of BCT QQ baffles a few months ago, didn't really like the sound. It is too bassy, I actually feel a little more vibration that drives me crazy. Talked to tech support, they said I can cut the cones and make it original BCT baffles. I did that yesterday, it sounds awesome! The only problem is deceleration, no popping but it makes a huge noise and vibration on decel or every time I close the throttle, it is more annoying. I still have the original short shot baffles, I cut them shorter, install them after the BCT baffles.
I took it for a few hours ride, love the sound, the decel thing is totally gone, deep throaty exhaust sound. I made a you tube video, I'd say it sounds a little louder than stock short shot but definitely deeper.

This is the original Short shot w/stock baffles less the TW-555 cams

Hope it doesn't cook your saddle bags. Or are the pipes far enough not to pose that problem?

Good point! I am aware of that, I will put heat tape on the bottom of the right bag.
Bags are detachable, I only leave them on when I need space.

I **** you not, I was just dreaming this idea up last night. Great minds think alike!

Did you cut the stock baffle directly in half or did you cut off enough so it would butt up against the BCT baffle tightly?

Regardless, I'm thinking of doing a cam swap before this winter is over now. Those 555's sound great with the short shots, as I suspected they would. I was planning on riding another season as is and go with the all-out Fuel Moto 107, ported heads, and 777 cams but I might have to swap in them cams now!!!

This is how I do it. Measure from the end of your BCT baffles to the original VH baffle mounting hole, appx 5 inches my setup, they join nicely without a gap. I mean it doesn't have to be that precise, I don't see a problem even a 1/8-1/4 gap in between. It's easy, you got to loosen the heat shields tho. I love the TW-555 cams, it starts pulling from 2600 rpm all the way up to 5000, I also plan on doing 107 by the end of the riding season. Now I am happy with the extra power, who knows? LOL

Are the QQs for Short Shots part #1994?
And do you have a vid of the QQ baffles before you modded them?
