Things I have noticed since lowering this bike:
*floor jack won't fit under without riding onto a 2x4 with rear tire
*you may be able to get away without the -1 kickstand
*-1" kickstand doesn't really help much
*seems to "hook-up" better while accelerating with the siffer suspension
*doesn't scrape as much as I previously thought
*looks kick *** and would do it all over again

YMMV

I put a set on my 2000 wide glide and I have not regreted it once! I have to slow down in tight curves and I have never scrapped. You can also grind the inside flap on the kick stand so your bike will lean a little more. Easy mod that cost nothing. As you can see, I barley have a seat and I wanted my bike as low as possible. My wife is 5' on a good day and her legs bend while sitting on it. You will need to figure something out when you want to lift your bike but I use a 2"x8" with a hole drilled through and put a jack handle in the hole and pull back to lift the bike to slide the motorcycle jack in and I have never had a problem.

Yeah, I saw the thread after my kickstand arrived. But, since I didn't have a grinder, just installed the new kickstand. Should have gotten a grinder and returned the kickstand in hindsight...

bike look sweet and is the most comfortable of all the harleys ive rode.

but

Last season i crashed on a right handed corner due to exhaust scraping.
Bent my kickstand going over speed bumps slowly and scrape the crap out
of the left side of the frame.
Granted i ride the thing like my old crotch rocket, so its not all the lowering kit.

All in all if you get the burly slammer kit, forget about rippin through twistys or
parking on the wrong incline.
My suggestion if you do go with the lowering kit, Get some kind of exhaust that
sits higher, a new kickstand and consider taking off left passenger peg and bracket.

To answer your question in my opionion based on how i like to ride.....
YES the burly slammer kit is too low and i wouldnt have done it knowing
what i know now

Best of luck dude
"Dude", thanks for your input. That is why I haven't lowered it yet. I don't think I ride like I was on a sport bike, but there are a few roads where I do lean it over some. I'm not really interested in changing my exhaust. Definitely food for thought.

Seems that most who have the lowering kit on, like it. Also, most have changed their exhausts with this set up.

Here is a road we take often enough. My speed is between 30 - 45 mph through most of it. Husband goes faster, but like I said, I don't ride overly aggressive.
(There are some 15mph curves that I do take at 15mph.)

There are roads like that and tighter a couple miles from the house. Weather permitting I'll see if the wife is up to riding along behind and video tape me riding these roads. The best one being Hwy 536 here in New Mexico heading up to Sandia Crest. This time of year its icy and or covered in snow. It has a bunch of 15mph curves. You can check it out on google maps.

Its not hard or very expensive to lower your bike with the Burly kit. If you don't like it, just put it back to stock and sell the parts pretty easily on the classifieds. However, I think you will find the pros outweigh the negatives. Especially if you are short!

You can still lean the bike, let's not dramatize it. If you want to ride like Nicky Hayden, get a crotch rocket.

O.K., no drama, I thought I would just get some insight on other's experiences. That's why this forum is so cool! I'm going to order the Burly's. Thanks!
