Back in the old days, Harley made detachable hardware for the pre-2006 Dynas. It was easily adapted for the 06+ dynas, but I cant find the parts number or any reference to the kit. Does anyone know what I am talking about and where I can buy an older one so I can modify it for my 2008?
Are looking for a pilon pad seat that attaches to the solo seat on a Dyna? I have one for my 07 Street Bob that bolts to my solo seat then bolts to the back hole in the fender.
Yes, but there is a quick detach hardware that was made for the pre-2006 dynas that will fit if you do some small mods to it. I had one on my 06 street bob.
right. there is a screw in the back, but there is a mounting plate that goes on the solo seat that allows the passenger seat to slide in and just have the one rear screw. Do you have the HD part number?
When I purchased my solo seat, 52888-98, I also purchased the Detachable Pillion Pad Hardware kit, 51668-97, for future use with a H-D pillion pad.
In May, 2000, the 51668-97 kit cost $37.95 and contains: a re-curved mounting bracket, mounting screw, and a fitted pad which protects the fender. The curved mounting bracket accepts the tab of the front bracket on a H-D pillion pad.
Because the solo seat sits a tad higher on the curved bracket, it may rock side to side a little bit so be sure to protect your fender from the solo seat pan.
