I just wanted to get some advice here. I went in to almost purchase the dyna low rider I have decided to buy.I went thru the prices with the sales guy. They offered me 3 packages withthe extended service plans. The bike is going for 17,422with taxes. The package i am interested in is called chrome rider. It goes ESP,Gap and Wheel and tire protection. The pricegoes up to 19,265. There is another package called polished rider--comeswith only ESP and Wheel and tire protection--total price 18731. So either program adds $1300-1800 to the overall price. Can someonelend their advice if these programs are worth it versusjust taking the 2 year HD warranty and leave it at that.
Waste of money.......you would be better off
putting it in the bank for a rainy day.
Don't pay $1300 to $1800 for something you
won't need for 2 years and I would be willing
to bet you won't pay that much in repairs after.
The extended warrenty guys are betting the same
thing!
I was in your same situation last March, I asked my friends about it and only 1 of the 9 had the extra coverage. I knew I had the two years so I opted out of the ESP. Iâve put 5400 miles on the low-rider without one single problem. I think itâs really a personal choice weather you want to lay down the smack right off the bat. You can add the ESP later is you change your mind, and they will remind you about it
Put 1/2 of that amount into maintenance and you will be fine......I have had 3 extended warranties on my cars and boat.......not worth it IMO.I'll never buy another.
Eagle1 I bought a lowrider a month ago and I did opt for the 5yr extended warranty without the wheel/tire protection. With tax it was $1055. I guess you could say I paid for 3years after the first two and if you look at it that way I paid about $30 a month for the three years. Sounds like the general consences is it is not worth it but it does give me a piece of mind knowing that is the most I will pay the next 5 years and by the end of that time I probably will be ready for a new bike. Good luck with what ever you choose but please do not make your decision based on what I did. I just wanted you to hear from my point of view and what I paid. Hope it helps. Lets see some pics when you get it home![sm=smokin.gif]
I bought the extended warranty. No worries here mate. I hear guys talking about inner bearing issues etc. I don't care just so I don't get too stranded from somewhere.
I purchased both ESP and Tire & wheel coverage for my 06 Street Bob.
All I can say is the Tire coverage ( $300.00 ) paid for itself the first time
I had to use it. I had 2 flats about 3 months after i bought my bike and
another about a year later. Both times the price would have been over
the original $300.00 I spent up front, plus they put new tires on no patch work.
Has anyone priced towing service lately? $200.00 is allowed for a wrecker.
Just like everything else its only good when you need it.
