203's give mid-range stomp, they are a lovely cam and give power where its needed, more power above 5K rpm is pointless in my opinion....don't get hung up on numbers, go for rideability.

If it were me id go with a cam that would do good in a 88 and better with a big bore down the road. What cam that is I dont know. Maybe a 203?
