I am thinking of a bar change and wanted chrome hand controls, yes brake reservoir included, and chrome levers . You just made my life a little easier.
On sale, complete bar set up $599, 14 inch bars prewired with chrome controls pre connected. Brake line , clutch cable, and throttle cables.

This is why I had to get my bars done while i was still over here in korea. Local indy did the whole job plus a derby cover and turn signal relocation for a 130 bucks.
I went from mini apes to 16" custom tbars, didn't need new cables luckily. Didn't take me near 8hrs to do it, but I did it over a couple of days. Longest part was draining the tank and removing it for me heh. And I'm totally new to motorcycles but have a little bit of hands on DIY stuff.
I pulled the whole cable connection through the bars, didn't remove the pins or anything, just ran the whole thing out and back in.
You can buy cables from JP cycles for like $50 each at the most.
Wow...well, HD flat rate blows and most the wrenches are slow. Check an independent shop. If it's Not internal wired, your at about 2-2.5 hours labor. If wires run internally, it will be 4-6 hours depending on experience, whether you are extending wires or not, and if you buy the wire extension kits with connector already in place or do it manually. Extending the wires on my 01 WG with Internal apes took 2 hours between taking apart the connections, labeling, solder and shrink tubing, etc, so I recommend the 40 bucks for the already to go extension kits for sale now.
It isn't hard, just have patience and go slowly to avoid issues. And as others had mentioned, a real sense of pride when you do it yourself.
I added 16s to my fatboy. There were some things that I had to mess with that were a little out of my comfort zone. You won't have the same issues, but after I was done I wished I had moved my turn signals to the tree area. It is my second favorite mod on my bike behind the pipes and I love the way it looks and feels.

I bought the same Kit a couple years ago, only with 12" bars. After I got them on I noticed some defects in the chrome around the brake reservoir. Also the brake lever was not contacting the brake light switch properly so the brake light was flickering while I rode. I managed to make it work but it was a PITA. A good price but not very good Quality.
