Hey all, just thought I'd share my newly acquired '01 FXDXT. The previous owner already installed a SE heavy breather intakeand VH 2 into 1 pipes. I'll be opening up the case soon to see if he replaced the crap chain cam with some gears, fingers crossed.
Anyone have an idea what it would cost to paint this thing/powder coat the pipes? I'm rather partial to the denim black...
I would keep the color you have now. there are WAY fewer bikes your color than there are denim black. IMO denim black has been run into the ground man.
Yup, both original bags. One even ended up having a bike cover stuffed inside it, so extra bonus. Now to start coming up with and prioritizing the mods I want to do.
Nice! I have the same color and same year. The first pipe I put on was also a pro pipe. It made great power with that pipe at 95". I then bought a fat cat on eBay and had it ceramic coated black. I think it cost about $200 for pipe and heat shields. You don't want powder the pipe. Ceramic is the way to go for the heat and durability. You could do the pipe in black and leave the end of the baffle insert chrome just to show it off a bit.
